Quick Takes Friday: One full week

1.
Whew! The kids finally went back to school for a full week this week! Between holidays, conferences and snow days, they haven't had a full week of school since the beginning of February.
Of course, next week is a short break since spring break begins.

2.
Speaking of spring, someone tell Mother Nature that spring is coming. We still have snow on the ground!

3.
Have you heard about NPN's Flickr Contest? No? Well, hop over, check out the rules, the super cool prizes and ENTER!

I've spent the week figuring out what I want to do with my blog and where I want to take it. I'm sure I'll muse about this in the coming week. I know I need a blog redesign and I need to do some work with social media. Other than that.... uggghhhh there went my brain.

I've been hit with the Momma Guilts lately. I'm bad about filling out the kids paperwork for TKD but if I don't fill out some of the forms, they can't move up to the next belt level. Joe has friends his age, but at different studios, that are already black belts. His mother is a giant slacker and overwhelmed in paper work. I need to spend one day a week focusing on their forms and making sure they are advancing at a good pace.

Speaking of guilt, the process for summer school is beginning. Yes, already. We just received notice that George does not need summer school. Instead, he will get speech services one time a week during the summer. Cole, however, will be in the summer school program full time. Camille qualifies for tutoring but the time is inflexible and really doesn't work for us. Yet- cue Momma Guilt- she needs help during the summer and it is really hard for me to work with her with her brother around. Right now, I am thinking of hiring a college student or a teacher over the summer. I would pay them the same thing as we would pay the school district for tutoring but it would be round our schedule.
Oh, then I have to figure out camps and classes and....

Dang it, so much to do, so little time!

  1. On the black belt issue- Don't feel guilty Joe isn't already a black belt. Wesley's karate organization won't even let kids grade for black belt until they reach 16. He'll be stuck at brown for a long long time.
